Act 1  - Scene 1


Lights up,

Congregation enters,

Congregation members are chatting amongst themselves

Brother Marc, Brother Paul, Sister Hillary enters.

Sister Hillary sits at the organ.

Brother Marc(Talks towards audience and congregation) Welcome to Reverend Robin's Rock n Roll Revival.  Everyone are you all ready to sing and praise Rock n Roll.

Audience / Congregation, Yes!

Ensemble picks up their guitars or instruments

Brother Marc,  Everyone get out of your seats and open and turn to song ___ in your programmes.  Let's Praise Rock n Roll in song!

Musical Number  -- The ensmble will choose the number at this moment

Brother Marc, Let's welcome our loyal Rev. Robin

Rev. Robin Enters

Audience / Congregation Applause

Rev, Robin,  Welcome to our Rock n Roll Revival.  We will praise the Lord of Rock and Roll and Poke out the eyes of the Devil.

Brother Paul,  The Devil himself will be here later on

Audience / Congregation Cheers

Rev. Robin, Now let's turn things back over to Brother Marc and Paul and we will sing another great song from our book.  Praise Rock n Roll

Rev. Robin, It's time for testimonials.  Anyone who would like to deliver a testimony, this is your time.  Praise Rock n Roll

Audience / Congregation, Praise Rock n Roll

Congregation Member #1, (Spoken with Feeling)

Rev. Robin,  Dose anyone else have a testimony.  Don't shy away and come on up and deliver it.

Congregation Member 2,   I could not live without Moose at my side.  I grew strong and now Moose is back from outer space. Praise him Praise him, praise him

Brother Marc,  Glorious!  Glorious isn't she?


Rev. Robin,  Are there any more testimonies?  (Pause)  I see that there are no more, Let's move on with another song.

Brother Marc,  Alright everyone, Let's open our hymnals and turn to Song __________ (Song chosen on the fly).

Song, Any song chosen by the cast or congregation that the Spirit of Rock n Roll guides them to in the programme.

Scene 3,  A Faith Healing

Rev. Robin,  I would need a volunteer from the audience

Brother Paul  passes a pair of crutches to a random congregation or audience member

Rev. Robin,  In the Spirit of Rock n Roll, I see that you have not been able to walk for a long time.  How many years were you not able to walk.

Congregation member or audience member,  It was a long time.

Rev. Robin,  After today, you can toss away those crutches because the power of Rock n Roll will heal you.  In the name of Rock n Roll, Be healed!  Praise Rock n Roll.

Audience / Congregation,  Hallelujah, Praise Rock n Roll

Rev Robin,  The pain in your legs is gone, Praise to Rock and Roll

Congregation / Audience member stands up, drops his / her crutches,

Rev Robin,  That's a miracle!

Congregation / Audience Member, Praise to Rock and roll

Audience / Congregation,  Hallelujah, Praise Rock n Roll

Sister Hillary plays praise chords on the organ

Rev Robin,  (talking to the congregation or audience member) Run across the stage 

Congregation / Audience member, runs around the stage.  Rev Robin directs the member back to his or her seat.

Rev. Robin, Are there any more people who needs healing in our congregation.

Brother Paul passes the crutches to another congregation member

Rev Robin, What's ailing you today

Congregation member,  I have missed rock n roll for 20 years.  My parents have not let me listen to it because they claim that it has messages of the Devil.

Rev. Robin, You can get over that right now!  Today we are going to Mock and poke the eyes out of the devil.

Congregation member, Praise to Rock n Roll

Audience / Congregation,  Hallelujah, Praise Rock n Roll

Rev. Robin,  In the name of Rock n Roll, let your losses of Rock n Roll come before the Lord of Rock n Roll himself.  (Places a hand on the congregation member's head)  Be Healed and the bands of the Devil Be Gone from you forever!

Reverend Robin's Rock n Roll Revival, The Musical

The Set

The set is a revival tent in the middle of the woods.  The set includes The old fashioned Hammond Organ, guitars, and drums.



The Props
The Program

Programs will have the lyrics for every musical number that may be performed during the show.  Audience and congregation members will receive one when the house is opened.

Crutches
Crutches are given out to a random audience or congregation member during the faith healing scene. 

grape juice or red wine
Grape juice symbolizes the blood of Christ during the communion scene.  Most venues prefer grape juice over wine because of liquor laws.

The Characters

Rev. Robin
Reverend Robin is the host of the Rock n Roll Revival.  Loves to praise Rock n Roll and poke out the eyes of the Devil

Brother Marc

The Music and Praise leader for the Rock n Roll Revival meetings

Brother Paul

The assistant for Music and Rev. Robin at Rock and Roll Revival Meetings

Sister Hillery

The loyal organist at the Rock n Roll Revival.

The Congregation (Chorus)


The Congregation gathers every time when there is a revival meeting in the tent.  The Congregation also includes the audience.  Audience members should be encouraged to sing, clap, or dance.  The lyrics will be published in the program for all musical numbers.

Jesus


Our heavenly father who art from Heaven.  Jesus died to forgive our sins.  Jesus wants to praise Rock n Roll and poke out the eyes of the devil.

The Devil


The evil one,  that must be mocked until Hell Freezes over.

The Music

The Rock n Roll Revival love to sing classic Rock n Roll tunes as a part of their religion instead of those boring old church hymns.  Songs include Down Under, Spirit in the Sky, The End of the World as we Know It, Sympathy for the Devil, Hallelujah, and many more.


The lyrics for each musical number is printed in your program to encourage everyone to sing, clap, and dance along.  This is what makes this musical unique compared to watching Broadway.  At each performance, the ensemble can choose the musical numbers on the fly and the show will be fresh every time you go.  You will have the most fun in the theatre ever since Crazy for You.

The Comedy


This musical premiered at Moose Man 2011.  The actors were totally into the moment and it was 100% improvised.  You will love it and you want to see it again because this show will be fresh every time you see it.
