Happy Opening! Crazy For You

Opening Night Festivites

Crazy For Yow was an exciting show.  There was tap dancing, percussion, and much more.  The radio said that you will have the most fun in the theatre ever watching Crazy For You.  I had lots of Fun in the theatre at Opening Night.  I was very lucky to go out for dinner prior to the performance.

The Dinner and Theatre Trip

The day started at 1 PM with a drive down the highway towards the Big Smoke in a Mustang for an early dinner on a patio.

What was the restaurant like?

Fortunately, I did not eat at a regular restaurant in the Theatre Distrct in the heart of the city.  the restaurant was a back yard patio in Etobicoke.  Prior to dinner, I hung out with great people like Zaria, Ramine, Irving, Tiph.  The meal was coleslaw, rice, meat, fish, vegetables, and plantain.  For dessert I had a pie and an ice cream bar.  Following dinner, there was some time for some more talking and hugs before it's time to go to the performance.

A hug with Zaria prior to departure for the Mady Centre.

At 5:20 PM, it was time to say good bye and get in the Mustang for a direct trip to the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts.  The Mustang traveled at a cruising speed of 120 KM per hour for an early arrival at the Mady Centre.

Irving, Phil, and Tiph.

Show Time!

I volunteered with Theatre By the Bay handing out the programs to the audience members as they enter the theatre prior to the performance.   The show was lots of fun.  The actors did a great job in their opening night performance.  These actors were able to pick up a musical instrument and play it.  Following the performanc, there was a reception and where I got to meet the actors from the show.  My friend Micheal Rawley made the trip up to see the show.  I was lucky  If you like to join in the fun, the ticket information is below.

The Tour of The Diesel Playhouse Bar

Now let's take a tour of the upper level of the Diesel Playhouse.  This is what the Diesel Playhouse looked like back on the 24th of May of 2008.  This tour was filmed with the Shakes of Excitement.

The Bar is where food, drink and popcorn can be purchased before the show.  We will remember these great memories of the Diesel Playhouse.

This is the post show Splatter Result after Evil Dead the Musical Viewing #10.

The Diesel Playhouse, October 29, 2012 Update

This is what the Diesel Playhouse looks Like on October 29, 2012.   In this entry, I get a glimpse of the Diesel Playhouse Administration office and the Front of House.

Approaching The Diesel Playhouse from King Street West.

A Closer View of the Diesel Playhouse.  A fence was built around the perimeter of the Building.

The Large bay window was filled in with cinder blocks.  If you remember, The Red DIESEL Sign stuck out of the center of this window.

Large beams were inserted in the base of the building.  The front of house is being preped to be moved onto the sidwalk.

The Diesel Playhouse Main Space and Caberet Spaces were demolished.

This is the first and last glimpse of what the Diesel Playhouse looks like from the inside.

The Elevator Shaft is still in tact.

Looking down stage centre towards the Front of House.  The First floor housed Jeff Healey's Roadhouse and the Diesel Playhouse Box Office.  I went there to pick up my tickets when I watched Evil Dead for the last 5 times.  It was cheaper to purchase my tickets at the box office.

The Second Floor housed the DIESEL PLAYHOUSE Administartion offices.  The Third floor was the Front of House, Bar, The Main Space, and Caberet Space

Looking Westward on Mercer Street towards the Blue Jays Way.

Diesel Playhouse April, 2013 Update

What does the Diesel Playhouse look like as of April 15, 2013

Approaching the Diesel Playhouse on Blue Jays Way.  This is how I visited the Diesel Playhouse back in the day of Evil Dead, The Musical

The Diesel Playhouse from King Street West.

The Theatre has been demolished to make way for an ugly Condo Tower

The Front of House has been moved onto the sidewalk of Blue Jays Way.

One lane has been blocked because the Front of House had to be moved onto the sidewalk.  The Front of House is being preserved because it is a heritage building.  Lot of other heritage buildings were knocked down and the frontage was preserved.

The Front of House sitting on yellow beams on the side of the road.  You can see the elevator shaft on the left hand side of this photo.

An Ugly hole gapes in the back of house of the Diesel Playhouse.

Rumble Strips in South Korea

Rumble Strips in South Korea are designed differnt compared to the ones in Ontario, Canada

These rumble strips are located on the Yeongdong Expressway.  These rumble strips are a bunch of grooves engraved into pavement.  When you hit these rumble strips they make a high pitch tone.
