Boreal, 2011, The Tempest

July 14th, 2011

The day began by volunteering for Theatre By the Bay one final time.  I got to sell goods like halos, and lolly pops.  The bandanas and the necklaces all sold out within a week and a half.

The Pirates rocked the stage out for the hour.  They sang their favorite tunes like Land Ho, Sea Dogs, and many more.  After the show you will be humming or singing those songs as you left the theatre.

In the Evening I returned to the Georgian Theatre to bid farewell to Robert Joy (Prospero) with one final hug.  I managed to sneak a peak at the fight rehearsal on this last evening of volunteering at Theatre By the Bay.  After Fight Call and the actors are all warmed up, Michel Rawley came out and gave me one final hug.

At 7:30 PM, The Stage Manager handed the house over to the house manger and the stage is declared Hot!.  If you are in the show and your stage manager says the stage is hot, this means the house has been opened to the audience.  When the house opened, I did my usual job, handing out programs and telling everyone to enjoy the show.

At 8:00 PM I was on the bus down to the city to spend this one night thinking about Ariel as a Harpy in Act 3 Scene 3 of the Tempest.

After spending a late night at Irving's place, I woke up and grabbed some grub at the Sunset Grill before I headed to Keele Subway Station to meet the Parkinson bus to Moon River Basin.

Before High noon, the buses and the baggage truck pull down the ramp.  Justin and Angela start checking people's names as they arrive off the subway or in cabs.

Once you have checked in, it was time to check you baggage onto the Theatre By the Bay Cube Van.  The final boarding call is signaled by the honking of the horn.  If you hear the horn, you better get your buns on the bus.

After getting through some heavy traffic on Keele Street, Weston Road, and Black Creek Drive, the drive became smooth sailing to Barrie.

The Windseeker is going at full speed.  If you ever want to ride it, it will take you up and than it will return back to the ground within 2 minutes.  A pretty short ride.  At Wonderland, there are lot of passengers who want to ride this new attraction.

Passing Through Barrie, ON

At 2:45 PM, The Georgian Theatre is now in sight.  Meanwhile in the Pirate Musical, Billy Bones Falls on his back after receiving the Black Spot of Death from Black Dog.

Due to some large accident on the 400 Extension, the bus drivers decided to take everyone on a scenic route via Orillia, Warminster, and Coldwater.

Turn here  to get to the Scream Shack.  The Shack is located at 1500 Wainman Line.

Do not forget to lift your feet for the train tracks.  We do not need to lift them because we flew over them.

Flying high over the waters of Honey Harbour before making a layover at a gas station / restaurant.

Everyone got a 20 minute layover to use the facilities, buy a snack, and hang out before boarding the bus for Moon River Basin.  Boarding Call was announced by the sound of the horns and Danny Depoe played Reveille on his Trumpet.

After a 20 minute drive up the highway, the motorcade had to make a tricky trek through a winding dirt road to the water.  Dust was flying everywhere, trees scratching the roof of the bus.

Passing through a small wetland.

Finally, we arrived at port.  Every year, Justin has to announce that each canoe must carry 3 passengers.  If a canoe travels with two, it will have to return to port and pick someone who has been left behind.
