Barrie Downtown Community Theatre, Grand Opening

The Surgery is now complete and on the 10th Day of September, The Mady Centre for the Performing Arts will be opening.

Surgery Recap

In March, 2010, Barrie Council decided to demolish the Scotia Bank building and rebuild a new building instead of renovating.  In July, 2010, The Old Bank Theatre was ripped down and a big pit severed the ground until the basement was installed.  In February, 2011 The structure started to emerge from the pit.  As the surgery continued into the spring of 2011, the outer walls were blueskinned, paneled and the decorative finish was installed.  By July, 2011, the steel fences came down and the sidewalks were opened and people can get a closer look at the new theatre.
